(2/4/2020, Manchester, NH) – Sheehan Phinney is proud to announce that Tom E. Mitchell has been named the firm’s Director of Information Security and Technology.
“Cybersecurity is one of the most critical issues facing law firms today,” says Paul Voegelin, COO of Sheehan Phinney. “Tom brings a wealth of expertise in information security and I am very pleased he has joined us to lead our Information Technology team.”
Mitchell joined Sheehan Phinney in 2019. Starting with his first computer in 1983, he found his calling early in life, and continues to find exciting challenges working with all technology. That passion for IT earned him a wealth of experience beyond his years in Information Technology, cyber security, compliance, auditing, business operations and client management. Prior to joining the firm, Mitchell spent over 20 years in hardware and software support & training, IT operations, managed IT services, engineering and security. Early in his career, he spent 8 years in the US Navy, trained in electronic warfare, navigation electronics, and communications as electronic technician assigned to West Coast fast attack nuclear submarines. In addition to being a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Mitchell’s focus on cyber security awareness, issues, and preparedness has provided him opportunities to travel, training and lecturing to small businesses, professional organizations, and at conferences from Maine to Florida and out to the Midwest.
