(February 6, 2017, Manchester, NH) – Sheehan Phinney shareholder Bobbie Hantz has been appointed to Governor Sununu’s Judicial Selection Committee. The committee is tasked with examining all potential applicants for judicial nominations and making recommendations for qualified applicants based on experience, good character and temperament. The bipartisan Commission will be comprised of experts from across a wide range of professions, including the legal, law enforcement and business communities.
Hantz’s practice concentrates in land use and family law matters. She also handles litigation of business, insurance and construction disputes and contested estate, probate and privacy matters. Active in the legal community, Hantz is a former director of the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association and served on the NH Women’s Bar Association’s Marilla Ricker Awards Committee. She is a former member of the New Hampshire Association for Justice, and participates in the NH Bar Pro Bono Referral Program and Domestic Violence Emergency (DOVE) Project. She is also a NH Rule 170 Mediator and is a recently appointed member of the New Hampshire Board of Bar Examiners. Hantz is admitted to practice in New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts. She received her B.A., with honors, from the University of New Hampshire and her J.D., Order of the Coif, Lowell Thomas Scholar, from the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago Kent College of Law.
