(April 26, 2017, Manchester, NH) – Sheehan Phinney shareholder Katherine Hanna was named to the Board of Directors for the NH Center for Public Policy Studies.
The New Hampshire Center for Public Policy Studies is an independent, nonpartisan organization that pursues data-based research on public policy matters, develops options, informs policy makers and advises them about choices for action. The Center’s mission is to raise new ideas and improve policy debates through quality information and analysis on issues shaping New Hampshire’s future. At least half of the Center’s funding comes from unrestricted donations, ensuring our independence and our ability to respond quickly to changing policy needs in the state.
Hanna chairs the firm’s Healthcare Practice Group. She serves as general and special counsel to hospitals, specialty hospitals, long-term care facilities, home health and hospice organizations, physician practices, dental practices, and individual practitioners, including physicians, dentists, APRN’s, PA’s and mental health counselors. She advises her healthcare clients on corporate, contracting, licensure, regulatory, credentialing, employment and patient care issues. Hanna is also a member of the firm’s Government Relations Practice Group. She has had substantial experience in state and federal government, having served as Policy Director and Legal Counsel to Governor John Lynch, an elected Representative to the New Hampshire House of Representatives, and a Legislative Assistant in the United States Senate. She has been actively involved in drafting significant health care legislation, including the state’s Advance Directives laws.
Hanna has been named one of the Best Lawyers in America®, for her work in healthcare , is a two-time recipient of the NH Bar Association President’s Award for Distinguished Public Service and received the 2015 -Dunfey-Kanteres Award, NH Democratic Party. Hanna is admitted in New Hampshire and received her B.A., cum laude, from Mount Holyoke College and her J.D. from Boston College Law School.
