(April 26, 2017, Boston, MA) – Sheehan Phinney is proud to welcome attorney Paul Lopez to its Boston office.
Lopez joins the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group where he advises employers on a wide range of issues, including terminations, wage & hour rules, benefits, discrimination, harassment, drug testing, and family & medical leave. Lopez also reviews and drafts employment contracts, employee handbooks, and other personnel policies for clients. His primary focus is on helping employers avoid claims altogether, but he regularly assists with compliance audits, government investigations, EEOC charges, and other pre-litigation claims. He also counsels employers on union issues, including grievances and collective bargaining negotiations.
Before joining Sheehan Phinney, Lopez worked as in-house counsel for a large company based in New York. His experience advising executives, implementing policies, and handling claims from the inside allows him to more effectively represent clients from the outside. He is admitted in Massachusetts and Connecticut and received his B.A. from Boston College and his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law.
