(Manchester, NH) – Sheehan Phinney shareholder Anna Barbara (Bobbie) Hantz has been named to the firm’s five person management committee as the ‘At-Large’ member, effective immediately. Sheehan Phinney’s Management Committee oversees the administrative and business functions and strategic planning initiatives for the firm’s four regional offices and 60+ lawyers.
Hantz’s practice concentrates in land use and family law matters. She also handles litigation of business, insurance and construction disputes and contested estate, probate and privacy matters. Active in the legal community, Hantz is a former director of the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association and served on the NH Women’s Bar Association’s Marilla Ricker Awards Committee. She is a member of the New Hampshire Association for Justice, and participates in the NH Bar Pro Bono Referral Program and Domestic Violence Emergency (DOVE) Project. She is also a NH Rule 170 Mediator and is a recently appointed member of the New Hampshire Board of Bar Examiners. Hantz serves on the Board of the Manchester Community Music School and the Board of New Hampshire Legal Assistance.
In 2014 Hantz received the Granite Pathways ‘Hope Award’ for her successful pro-bono work to protect Granite’s right to operate a clubhouse model self-help center in the North End of Manchester for persons with mental illness. She has received the Nashua YWCA Distinguished Women Leader Award, the NH Trial Lawyers’ 2003 Special Recognition Award for her work in privacy rights and was namedWomen’s Business Boston 2008 Reader’s Choice “Top Ten Lawyers.” Hantz is admitted to practice in New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts and is a member of each state’s federal and state bar. She received her B.A., with honors, from the University of New Hampshire and her J.D., Order of the Coif, from Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago Kent College of Law.
