Reische and his wife Joan will receive the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation's 2008 Lifetime of Service Award at the Foundation's Manchester Region Annual Celebration on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at CR Sparks in Bedford, NH.
The Lifetime of Service Award is given to an individual (or individuals) to recognize exceptional vision and commitment in the Manchester Region. The award criteria states "Of special interest is anyone who has been doing this work quietly, perhaps at a grassroots level. The nominee must demonstrate compelling involvement in and around the region as well as advocacy for this region of the State. The ideal candidate will have a recognizable volume of participation and exemplify an attitude of community service." Alan and Joan Reische were selected as this year's recipients for their work and commitment to the community with such organizations as CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Families in Transition and Child Health Services to name a few.
Resiche's legal practice is focused on transactional matters, business acquisitions and mergers, planning for next-generation internal ownership transfers and debt and equity financings from institutional and non-institutional sources. He has also completed complex transactions for U.S. companies seeking to establish a presence outside the United States, as well as with foreign companies commencing activities within the U.S. Reische is active with many organizations and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the New Hampshire International Trade Association, as well as currently serving as Vice-Chair and a member of the Board of Directions and Executive Committee of the Workforce Opportunity Council; and as a member of the Governor's Advisory Committee on Capital Formation. For three years he served as President and Director of Court Appointed Special Advocates of NH, Inc. He is also a member of the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund - Vested for Growth Committee, a micro-capital fund for companies dedicated to open book management.
Reische has continually been recognized by his peers in Chambers USA — America's Leading Business Laywers as the "dean of the corporate bar," bringing "innovative approaches to complicated corporate problems," and in Woodward/White's Best Lawyers in America. Most recently he was named a New England Super Lawyer by Law and Politics in the area of corporate law.
Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green is recognizing this achievement by contributing $1,000 to the William S. Green Fund in the Reiche's honor. The William S. Green Memorial Fund was created as a tribute and memorial to the late William S. Green, a long-time president and guiding partner of the firm, who passed away in November, 2007. He dedicated himself to serving his community and state, assuming leadership roles in a broad range of civic, educational, medical and religious institutions.
